Purpose
This Code of Ethics & Professional Boundaries establishes the principles that guide Mystic by Nature and the professional relationship between practitioner and client.
Mystic by Nature is committed to providing spiritual, intuitive, energetic, and metaphysical services in a manner that honors the dignity, autonomy, privacy, safety, discernment, and personal agency of every client.
This Code is intended to support a professional relationship grounded in peace, love, empowerment, integrity, respect, compassion, and expansion.
Mystic by Nature does not seek to create dependency upon the practitioner. Services are offered as intentional containers for exploration, reflection, insight, integration, and personal growth, with the ultimate goal of supporting clients in developing their own discernment, self-trust, and capacity to move forward independently.
1. Commitment to Client Dignity & Respect
Mystic by Nature recognizes the inherent dignity and worth of every person.
The practitioner will:
Treat clients with kindness, respect, compassion, and professionalism.
Honor each client’s individuality, lived experience, worldview, culture, values, spiritual beliefs, or absence of spiritual beliefs.
Avoid discrimination, harassment, intimidation, humiliation, coercion, or degrading language.
Create an environment in which clients may ask questions, disagree, express uncertainty, or decline participation without fear of judgment.
Respect that clients may interpret spiritual experiences differently from the practitioner.
Avoid imposing personal beliefs, spiritual practices, religious traditions, or metaphysical interpretations upon a client.
Clients are never required to adopt the practitioner’s worldview in order to receive services.
2. Client Autonomy & Self-Determination
Clients retain authority over their own lives, choices, beliefs, bodies, relationships, and decisions.
The practitioner will:
Encourage clients to develop their own discernment rather than surrendering decision-making authority to the practitioner.
Present intuitive or spiritual information as something the client may consider, question, interpret, or disregard.
Avoid presenting personal interpretations as unquestionable truth.
Encourage clients to listen to their own inner wisdom and evaluate information thoughtfully.
Respect a client’s right to pause, decline, modify, or end a session or practice at any time.
Never require continued sessions as a condition of receiving appropriate support within an agreed service.
Never suggest that a client must continue working with Mystic by Nature in order to remain safe, spiritually protected, healed, successful, or connected to a particular spiritual source.
3. Integrity in Intuitive & Channeled Work
Intuitive, psychic, and channeled information is presented as a subjective spiritual or intuitive perspective.
The practitioner will:
Clearly distinguish intuitive impressions from objectively verifiable facts.
Avoid presenting spiritual impressions as certainty.
Avoid claiming absolute knowledge of another person’s thoughts, emotions, motives, health, future, spiritual status, or private circumstances.
Avoid using intuitive information to manipulate, frighten, pressure, or control a client.
Encourage discernment when clients receive information that feels uncertain, surprising, emotionally charged, or difficult to interpret.
Acknowledge uncertainty when appropriate.
Correct or clarify statements when the practitioner recognizes that something was communicated inaccurately or ambiguously.
Avoid making guarantees regarding specific future events or outcomes.
4. Scope of Practice
Mystic by Nature provides spiritual, intuitive, energetic, and metaphysical services intended for personal reflection, exploration, awareness, relaxation, spiritual connection, and general well-being.
The practitioner will practice only within the practitioner’s actual education, training, experience, and competence.
The practitioner will not represent Mystic by Nature services as:
Medical diagnosis or treatment
Mental health diagnosis or treatment
Psychotherapy
Psychiatric treatment
Medical advice
Legal advice
Financial advice
Emergency intervention
A substitute for licensed professional care
The practitioner will not intentionally use professional titles, credentials, or descriptions that falsely imply licensure or qualifications the practitioner does not possess.
When a client’s needs fall outside the practitioner’s scope, the practitioner may recommend that the client seek an appropriately qualified professional.
5. Referral & Appropriate Professional Support
Recognizing the limits of spiritual and metaphysical services is an important part of ethical practice.
The practitioner may encourage a client to seek appropriate professional support when circumstances indicate that another type of care may be more appropriate or beneficial.
This may include referral or encouragement to seek support from:
A physician or other healthcare professional
A licensed mental health professional
A qualified crisis or emergency service
A legal professional
A financial professional
Another appropriately qualified specialist
Referral is not intended to invalidate a client’s spiritual experience. Rather, it recognizes that different forms of expertise serve different purposes.
The practitioner will not discourage a client from seeking professional care or instruct a client to stop, alter, or delay prescribed treatment.
6. Professional Boundaries
Mystic by Nature maintains a professional relationship with clients.
The practitioner will maintain appropriate boundaries regarding:
Communication
Scheduling
Physical contact
Personal disclosure
Social relationships
Financial transactions
Gifts
Social media
Online interaction
Dual relationships
Sexual or romantic conduct
Use of client information
The practitioner will not knowingly exploit a client’s vulnerability, trust, emotional attachment, spiritual beliefs, or personal circumstances for personal, romantic, sexual, financial, religious, or other inappropriate benefit.
7. Sexual & Romantic Boundaries
Romantic or sexual relationships with current clients are incompatible with the professional relationship offered by Mystic by Nature.
The practitioner will not:
Engage in sexual conduct with a current client.
Make sexualized comments toward a client.
Use spiritual or energetic language to sexualize a professional interaction.
Suggest that sexual, romantic, or intimate involvement is necessary for a client’s spiritual development or healing.
Use perceived spiritual connection, destiny, twin-flame concepts, past-life connections, or similar beliefs to pressure a client into romantic or sexual interaction.
If a personal or romantic relationship develops independently outside the professional relationship, the practitioner will carefully consider whether continuing to provide services would create a conflict of interest or boundary concern.
8. Physical Contact & Energy Work
When a service includes physical contact, the practitioner will prioritize informed consent, comfort, and clear boundaries.
The practitioner will:
Explain relevant physical-contact practices before they occur.
Obtain appropriate consent.
Respect a client’s right to decline physical contact.
Stop physical contact immediately when requested.
Avoid unnecessary or ambiguous physical contact.
Never represent physical contact as medically necessary when it is not.
Respect cultural, personal, trauma-related, religious, and individual boundaries regarding touch.
Hands-on work is never required for a client to participate in a session.
9. Emotional & Psychological Boundaries
Spiritual and energetic sessions may sometimes involve meaningful emotional experiences.
The practitioner will not intentionally:
Diagnose a client’s psychological condition.
Claim certainty about the cause of emotional distress.
Encourage a client to regard ordinary emotional experiences as evidence of a specific disorder, trauma, spiritual attack, possession, curse, or other condition.
Attempt to recover allegedly suppressed or repressed memories through intuitive or energetic techniques.
Encourage a client to distrust everyone around them based solely on intuitive impressions.
Encourage isolation from family, friends, healthcare providers, therapists, religious communities, or other sources of appropriate support.
Use fear to motivate continued participation.
The practitioner may invite reflection on emotions, patterns, experiences, or spiritual perspectives while maintaining the distinction between spiritual exploration and clinical mental health care.
10. Spiritual Authority & Power
The practitioner acknowledges that clients may attribute significant spiritual authority or meaning to a practitioner, particularly during vulnerable or transformative periods.
Mystic by Nature therefore rejects the use of spiritual authority to control or manipulate clients.
The practitioner will not claim that:
The client must obey the practitioner.
The practitioner alone possesses the answer to the client’s situation.
The client cannot progress without the practitioner.
The client will suffer spiritually if they stop working with the practitioner.
The practitioner has exclusive access to a client’s guides, angels, ancestors, higher self, soul, destiny, or spiritual path.
A client must purchase additional services to remove a spiritual problem allegedly identified during a session.
11. Dependency & Appropriate Continuation of Services
Mystic by Nature intentionally offers finite service containers, including structured multi-session Journeys.
The practitioner will not create unnecessary dependency by:
Manufacturing problems that require additional sessions.
Claiming that a client is “not finished” solely to encourage another purchase.
Creating fear about what will happen if a client stops receiving services.
Suggesting that continued sessions are spiritually mandatory.
Withholding information in order to manufacture a need for future sessions.
Discouraging clients from integrating their experiences independently.
At the conclusion of a Session Package/Journey, the practitioner will support the client’s transition toward independent integration.
Clients may return in the future if they choose to explore a new life chapter, question, or intention. Returning is an invitation, not an obligation.
12. Confidentiality & Privacy
The practitioner respects the privacy of clients and treats personal information shared within the professional relationship as confidential, subject to the limitations described in the Mystic by Nature Privacy & Confidentiality Policy and applicable law.
The practitioner will:
Collect only information reasonably needed for the services or administration of the business.
Protect client records and communications using reasonable safeguards.
Avoid discussing identifiable client information publicly.
Avoid sharing client stories, experiences, photographs, recordings, or testimonials without appropriate permission.
Take reasonable precautions when discussing client matters electronically or through third-party platforms.
Confidentiality may have limitations where disclosure is required or permitted by law or necessary to address serious safety, legal, security, or other circumstances described in the Privacy & Confidentiality Policy.
13. Client Records & Session Notes
Client records and practitioner notes will be maintained for legitimate business, administrative, continuity-of-service, or professional purposes.
The practitioner will:
Keep records reasonably relevant to the services provided.
Avoid unnecessarily documenting highly sensitive personal information.
Distinguish practitioner observations or session notes from objective medical or psychological records.
Take reasonable steps to protect records from unauthorized access.
Avoid using client information for educational, promotional, or public purposes without appropriate authorization.
14. Marketing & Advertising Integrity
Mystic by Nature will represent its services honestly and transparently.
Marketing will not intentionally:
Guarantee specific spiritual, emotional, financial, relational, or physical outcomes.
Make unsupported medical or psychological claims.
Use fear, shame, urgency, or spiritual threats to pressure clients into purchasing services.
Claim that a service is necessary when it is optional.
Present testimonials as guarantees of future client results.
Misrepresent qualifications, experience, training, credentials, or results.
Present subjective spiritual interpretations as established scientific fact.
Marketing will aim to communicate possibility and invitation rather than certainty or coercion.
15. Financial Integrity
The practitioner will maintain transparent pricing and business policies.
Clients will be informed of applicable:
Service prices
Package prices
Payment requirements
Cancellation and rescheduling policies
Refund policies
Package terms
Expiration periods, when applicable
The practitioner will not intentionally create financial pressure by suggesting that purchasing additional services is spiritually necessary.
Discounted packages are offered as intentional service containers and are not represented as investments with guaranteed outcomes.
16. Gifts, Favors & Conflicts of Interest
The practitioner will exercise discretion regarding gifts, favors, referrals, personal relationships, and other circumstances that could compromise professional judgment.
The practitioner will avoid situations in which a client could reasonably feel pressured to provide:
Money beyond agreed fees
Personal favors
Gifts of significant value
Business opportunities
Personal access
Romantic or sexual attention
Testimonials or public endorsements
Potential conflicts of interest will be addressed openly whenever reasonably possible.
17. Social Media & Digital Communication
The professional relationship extends to digital spaces.
The practitioner will maintain appropriate boundaries through:
Email
Text messaging
Social media
Direct messages
Video sessions
Online communities
Other digital communication platforms
The practitioner will not use private client communications for public content without appropriate permission.
Clients are not required to connect with, follow, like, comment on, or publicly endorse Mystic by Nature in order to receive services.
The practitioner may establish reasonable communication hours and response expectations to maintain healthy professional boundaries.
18. Testimonials & Client Stories
Client experiences belong to the client.
The practitioner will not imply that a client’s experience represents a guaranteed result for others.
When permission is provided to share a testimonial or story, the practitioner will preserve the meaning of the client’s words and avoid altering them in a way that creates a misleading impression.
Clients may decline to provide testimonials without affecting their access to services.
19. Cultural & Spiritual Respect
Mystic by Nature recognizes that spiritual traditions, symbols, practices, and sacred teachings arise from diverse cultures and communities.
The practitioner will strive to:
Approach spiritual traditions with respect.
Avoid intentionally misrepresenting traditions.
Distinguish personal spiritual practice from established religious or cultural traditions.
Avoid claiming authority over traditions in which the practitioner has not been appropriately trained or initiated.
Remain open to learning and correction.
Avoid using sacred practices in ways that intentionally demean or exploit the communities from which they originate.
20. Professional Competence & Continuing Development
The practitioner accepts responsibility for maintaining appropriate competence within the services offered.
This includes:
Continuing personal and professional development.
Staying informed about ethical considerations relevant to the practice.
Recognizing limitations in knowledge or skill.
Seeking consultation when appropriate.
Updating policies and practices as the business evolves.
Remaining willing to revise practices when a legitimate ethical concern is identified.
The practitioner will not represent training, certification, experience, or expertise that has not actually been obtained.
21. Practitioner Self-Awareness
The practitioner recognizes that personal beliefs, emotions, assumptions, spiritual experiences, and unresolved personal material can influence professional relationships.
The practitioner therefore commits to ongoing self-reflection regarding:
Personal biases
Emotional reactions
Attachment to particular client outcomes
Desire for validation
Financial motivations
Spiritual beliefs
Personal projections
Transference or countertransference-like dynamics
Boundary concerns
Areas requiring additional education or support
When appropriate, the practitioner will seek consultation, supervision, mentoring, education, or other professional support.
22. Responsibility for Mistakes & Ethical Concerns
Ethical practice does not require perfection.
If the practitioner recognizes a mistake, misunderstanding, boundary concern, or ethical issue, the practitioner will make reasonable efforts to:
Acknowledge the concern.
Communicate honestly with the client when appropriate.
Correct misinformation when reasonably possible.
Take reasonable steps to prevent recurrence.
Seek consultation or additional education when appropriate.
Clients are encouraged to communicate concerns directly when they feel comfortable doing so.
23. Client Right to Discontinue
Clients may discontinue services at any time.
A client does not owe the practitioner continued participation because:
A package has been purchased.
A spiritual interpretation was offered.
The practitioner believes additional work could be beneficial.
The client previously expressed an intention to continue.
The practitioner believes the client’s process is incomplete.
Financial consequences of cancellation, missed appointments, or unused package sessions are governed separately by the Mystic by Nature Refund, Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy and applicable package agreement.
24. Ethical Foundation
The following principles serve as the foundation of Mystic by Nature’s professional practice:
Autonomy
The client retains authority over their own life, choices, beliefs, and decisions.
Integrity
The practitioner communicates honestly and does not intentionally mislead, manipulate, or exaggerate.
Compassion
Clients are met with humanity, kindness, patience, and respect.
Discernment
Spiritual and intuitive information is approached thoughtfully rather than treated as unquestionable authority.
Empowerment
Services are intended to strengthen self-awareness, agency, self-trust, and personal responsibility.
Non-Dependency
The practitioner does not cultivate unnecessary emotional, spiritual, or financial dependence.
Confidentiality
Personal information is treated with care and protected within the limits described in applicable policies and law.
Boundaries
The practitioner maintains clear professional boundaries and respects the client’s boundaries.
Competence
Services are provided within the practitioner’s actual scope of knowledge, training, and experience.
Humility
The practitioner recognizes that spiritual work involves uncertainty and that no practitioner has complete knowledge of another person’s path.
25. Practitioner Commitment
By operating Mystic by Nature, I commit to practicing in a manner consistent with the principles outlined in this Code of Ethics & Professional Boundaries.
I recognize that the trust placed in a spiritual practitioner is meaningful and carries responsibility.
I commit to using that trust to support—not diminish—the client’s relationship with their own inner wisdom, discernment, agency, and life.
I will strive to ensure that Mystic by Nature is a space where clients can explore deeply while remaining free to question, choose, change direction, integrate independently, and ultimately walk their own path.
